Dust Off Your Gear: Off-Road Season is Almost Here!

As the off-road season approaches, it's time to dust off your gear and get ready for adventure! Equipping your vehicle with the right tools and accessories can make all the difference in your off-road experience. From essential maintenance items to performance-enhancing upgrades, we’ve made a list of top-notch products designed to get your off-road rig ready for action this season.

OIL AND FILTER CHANGE

A routine oil change not only enhances your engine performance, but also extends its lifespan while optimizing fuel economy. The IAG 100% synthetic oil change kit for the 2021+ 2.3 liter and 2.7 liter EcoBoost Ford Broncos include everything you need to refresh your oil and filter before hitting the trails. Each specially priced kit includes MOTUL 5W30 engine oil, OEM Ford Filter and Drain Plug/O-Ring. Check out our how-to videos on Bronco oil changes for 2.3 liter and 2.7 liter for some great tips and tricks!

ARMOR UP

If you’re looking to take on some tougher trails this season, you’ll want to consider adding a bit of extra protection to safeguard your rig from snags, impacts and abrasions. While we offer a few different brands and options to choose from, the IAG Rock Armor line offers a complete protection system that provides front to rear coverage of your Bronco’s undercarriage. Each plate in the Rock Armor Kit is designed to fit tightly against the next plate, allowing your vehicle to easily slide over rocky terrain, and to keep your vehicle from getting damaged or snagged on jagged rock edges.

ILLUMINATING UPGRADES

It’s easier than you think to get caught out at night on the trail, but it doesn’t have to stop you dead in your tracks. This season, make sure you’re prepared with the right lighting options for your off-road vehicle. Whether you planned on a bit of night driving, or you took a wrong turn, the addition of auxiliary lighting can provide you with some extra illumination to help you make it safely to your destination. Choose a Yellow LED Light Bar to cut through thick fog, snow or elements, or a multi-colored light bar from Baja Designs to cover your bases.

WHEELS

A great set of wheels not only improves the visual appearance of your ride, but can also increase the functionality of your vehicle out on the trails. Icon’s ALPHA wheels are a perfect example of a high-performing off-road wheel that is just as capable on-road and in town. A lot goes into developing a wheel that can reduce scrub radius, while also improving the overall handling and riding experience, and the ALPHA does just that. With backspace dimensions developed specifically for Ford, Toyota and Jeep, ICON is definitely a brand worth checking out.

BRAKE SERVICE

Brake fluid flushes not only keep your vehicle safely under control, but they also help to prolong the life of your internal brake system parts. Changing out your old brake fluid for a high quality, high temperature brake fluid can also get rid of any sponginess you may be feeling in your brake pedal, and give you a more responsive feel when you’re out on the trails. Check your manual to see if you’re due; on average, Ford recommends every two years or 30,000 miles, but this number can change with usage, ambient temperature and other factors.

It may also be worth taking a peek at your brake pads and rotors, as they can wear fast and glaze over in off-road situations. We have lots of options from Power Stop, click here-

MAINTENANCE ODDS & ENDS

If you handle your own maintenance, it’s worth taking a look at our selection of fluids, filters and maintenance packages. Keeping up on routine flushes is a lot cheaper if you can do it yourself, and we’ve got everything you need to take care of your vehicle. From gear oils to cabin filters to thermostats, our selection of specialty automotive parts will keep you on the roads and the trails for miles to come.

GET ORGANIZED

Keeping your rig organized and safe is crucial out on the trails. Loose items can become dangerous projectiles, and can really put a damper on your excursion. Fortunately, there are a lot of options to keep your gear safely stowed and your truck organized. The IAG I-Line Picatinny Rail will keep your phone steadily mounted, while the IAG I-Line Full Length Dash Mount Rail System allows you to mount up multiple devices like cameras and GPS systems. To prevent clutter and chaos, explore our range of organizer bags and MOLLE panels, ensuring everything stays in its place during your off-road adventures.

MAINTENANCE ODDS & ENDS

We’ve got a couple last items to help you get ready for a successful season, starting with the IAG I-Line Trail Marker w/ LED Lights. These super functional lights provide an easy visual marker to identify your Bronco’s front corners when maneuvering through tight off-road situations, lowering your risk of getting stuck or damaging your vehicle. Next up is a Stubby Antenna from BuiltRight Industries. BuiltRight’s stout and sturdy little antennas are designed with a low profile to avoid getting damaged or broken off by trees or obstructions on the trails. Lastly, to help you get through those high-flowing springtime water crossings, you might want to consider adding a snorkel. A snorkel will not only keep water from accessing your engine, but an inlet pipe that is elevated up and away from the hot engine can provide cooler and cleaner air.
